The receiver comes closer again. "No," he says primly, "...wait. Yes." A pause. "...say the question again."

"Oh, good, you're back! Can you just give me a little shove--"
no subject
"Just tell me where you are, why, and how much money I need. And-and if you need your insurance cards."
Please be the drunk tank and not the hospital or a more serious crime.

"Calm dowwwn," he sighs, "I don't know, like..."
He meets eyes with the tired jail guard, who looks like she's about ready to spike him like a football.
"...ten thousand?" he concludes in a small voice. Then, quickly, "my parents will pay you back."

The jeans are a little snug and several inches too long. He jams his feet into shoes anyway.

He looks back at Tessa in time for the guard to patiently explain that they both started crying when they tried to separate them, so--
"--Colin you can't leave me here like this."

"Hey, hurry up so I can make my phone call. If Colin won't come get us I'll just call Alexios."

"Oh-- oh thank god," he sighs into the receiver, so relieved there are tears in his eyes, "thank you, thank you, we'll see you soon--"
He actually kisses the phone before the guard wrenches it back away from him and hangs up.

When he arrives, a constable takes pity and lets the prisoners out. Colin is there to meet them as they come into the foyer, Bene's jeans bunched around his ankles, his expression of worry dissolving into relief.
"You're okay," he sighs.

Benedict practically launches himself into Colin's arms, gripping the shorter man tightly in his rangey embrace with the air of a newly-freed prisoner of war.
"It was awful," he whimpers, keeping his voice low so Tessa won't hear and pick on him.

"They're not giving your stuff back. Sorry for getting you out of bed for this, Col."

Of course by we he means I, but he doesn't mind so much. He likes taking care of people and Benedict is someone who lets him. He lets go of his boyfriend as Tessa comes into the room.
"What stuff?" he asks, glancing between them. He has a suspicion--he knows what Benedict gets up to--but hopes against hope.

"Nothing," he says evasively, "doesn't matter."
no subject
"Yeah, well, they won't give my weed back either, even though it's medical."
It's not, at least not in an official sense, but who's gonna check? Nobody!
